Tonight's Met Gala included some of the best beauty looks we've seen on any red carpet in ages, including gothic makeup, towering updos, and dewy, spring-inspired faces. But every year, we witness a handful of stars transcend trends, sporting unique looks that even the most seasoned beauty experts couldn't predict. This year, one of those celebrities is Amanda Seyfried, who wore her hair in shiny, slick ringlets dyed metallic silver for the occasion.
Seyfried's updo matched her silver dress and leafy tiara, giving her an all-over chrome look that channeled both the Met Gala's garden theme and a sense of futurism. At the front, Seyfried's hair was shaped with gel into a thick, ornate ringlet that snaked down the side of her forehead, with hints of other curls peeking out from under her tiara.
Seyfried's look comes courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora, who has styled Seyfried before and has also worked with the likes of Kate Winslet, Eiza Gonzalez, Emily Blunt, and more. To achieve the style, he used Kristin Ess hot tools to smooth and style Seyfried's hair.
The dress code of this year's Met Gala was "The Garden of Time," which sparked the majority of attendees to appear in florals and dewy, spring-like looks. Seyfried's interpretation of the theme brought a modern element to the conception, leaning into the futuristic elements of "time" rather than the more literal idea of being in a garden. Her hairpiece and regal updo may also allude to "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," which is the exhibition that this year's gala is set to support.
Regardless of Seyfried and Campora's inspiration, the gray hair look is one of our favorites and we're hoping it sparks a new trend.
