Irreversible:Robin Kadyan dies after North Curl Curl beach rescue

A young man has tragically died after he was caught in a rip and swept out to sea at a popular Sydney beach last week.

The man had been swimming with four other people at North Curl Curl beach on Sunday, August 6 when the group got into in trouble.

He was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a critical condition.

Police today confirmed the man passed away on August 11.

The victim has been named as Robin Kadyan, 22, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser, with a friend describing his brain injuries the accident as “irreversible”.

“Robin and friends decided to swim but with time, there were high tides which caused (chaos) between all the swimmers,” the fundraiser organiser Chirag Dalal wrote.

“All of them tried to help each other regardless of the situation but still three of them including Robin had to be rescued by paramedics and life savers from the sea with the help of helicopter and boats.

“Robin was admitted to the nearest hospital in really serious condition where he fought for his life several days.

“Doctors did their end of work but there was brain injuries were irreversible and he was not able to survive the incident.”

Almost $50,000 has been raised in a bid to pay for his family to arrange a funeral in India.

Four other people survived the accident, two people, a male and female, were able to make their way onto rocks according to NSW Ambulance.

The female sustained minor injuries.

Two other males in their 20s were picked up in a raft by Surf Life Savers and were treated for fatigue, hypothermia and exhaustion and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.

They have all been released from hospital.
